22awwI $300_sml.jpg

Impressed to '6768 L-CPL L. McMILLAN. 4 BN. A.I.F.'. Lachlan McMillan, from Nyngan in N.S.W., enlisted 26/5/16, with prior service listed as 'Home Defence Force, German C.C.'. His number being N32535. Being 29 years of age, it is likely he was a Guard, possibly at Liverpool Camp. He served with 'B' Company, 1st Bn. A.I.F. Camp, Cootamundra. McMillan embarked for overseas service 8/11/16. After failing to re-board his transport ship at Capetown, McMillan was the subject of a Divisional Court Martial on 2/1/17.

He finally joined his Bn. in France on 11/6/17. After service, he R.T.A. on 6/7/19.   Much of his 63 page file is devoted to the proceedings of his Court Martial. VF
